Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins is a Mexican American Sportscaster. She works as an ESPN anchor on news, and she hosts SportsNation often. In 2016, she joined ESPN. Her mother is the reporter for television Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta is a native speaker of two languages. From the age of nine years old, her ability to speak two languages has helped her get a job in Miami as a production assistant for Univision. In this role she was given the chance to work with national producers such as Nuestra Belleza Latina. Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. Her next job was as reporter for sports at The CBS St. Petersburg Affiliate. In 2009 she relocated away from Texas into Rio Grande Valley where she was a news reporter on KNVO TV 48 Univision. Reporting on stories on the trafficking of drugs and immigration across the border of Mexico and Texas. Border, she served as a news reporter for the Spanish channel KNVO TV48 at 5 pm. She was as a reporter for news in English for 9 pm, then a news anchor for 10pm before returning on the Spanish channel. She would also fill in at times as a news and sport anchor. Then she became anchor and reporter for Univision Dallas' Deportes 23. In the following years, she was given more responsibility. She also did segments on MLB's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason as well as the Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. Additionally, she was the producer of the local Univision 23 sports program Accion Deportiva Extra on which she also served as anchor. She became a sports host for the morning show of Despierta America Deportes. She also served as a sports anchor in Primer Impacto, a magazine show on the UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta's parents are originally native to Veracruz Mexico. They eventually relocated to Mexico City where she was born on the 22nd of November, 1985. She is older than her sister. The family relocated to Miami following the move out of Mexico into the US. Her parents divorced soon after and, in 1995, she was married an naval designer by the name of Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo died in 2006 due to kidney cancer. She stayed with her family in Canton Ohio with her older sister in the summertime, where she had been offered an opportunity to work. As a senior in high school but having a clear vision of what she wanted to do with her life Antonietta visited at the University of Mount Union to examine if it was a good fit for her preferences. The campus was a dream for her. The university also provided her with the program she was interested in. After completing her studies, she was accepted into the University with a degree in media studies. Her relationship lasted for a while with her teacher Mark Bergmann who was the director of WRMU 91.1 FM, a station of which she was an affiliate. Mark Bergmann inspired her to believe in herself and also his love for journalism deeply influenced her. She was determined to meet his expectations and never failed him.
